Frequently Asked Questions
Can a car drop me directly at Kashi Vishwanath Temple?
No — the Kashi Vishwanath corridor is now a pedestrian-only zone. Your driver will drop you at the designated parking near Godowlia Chowk, from where it's a 5–7 minute walk through the corridor. Tell your driver your pickup point clearly, as the area gets extremely crowded during evening Aarti.
How much does a Varanasi to Ayodhya car rental cost?
A sedan (Dzire or Etios) for the 200 km Varanasi–Ayodhya round trip via NH19 and NH27 typically costs ₹4,500–5,500 including driver bata and tolls, for a same-day return. An Innova for a family of 6 runs ₹6,500–7,500. Overnight halts add ₹500–800 for driver accommodation.
Is it worth renting a car for Sarnath, or should I take an auto?
For a solo traveller, an auto to Sarnath (12 km, 30 min) is cheaper. But for families or anyone combining Sarnath with a return trip via BHU and the Ganga ghats, a chauffeur-driven car at ₹999–1,400 for a half day is more comfortable and lets you keep luggage in the boot.
Do you provide cars for the 4:30 AM Ganga Aarti at Assi Ghat?
Yes, and it's one of our most-booked Varanasi services. Book by 9 PM the previous night for a 3:45 AM pickup. Winter mornings (Dec–Jan) are foggy, so add 15 minutes buffer — NH19 and city roads near Lanka can have visibility under 50 metres.
Can I drive a rented car myself in Varanasi's old city?
We strongly advise against self-drive in the galis around Dashashwamedh, Manikarnika, and Vishwanath Gali — these lanes are barely 6 feet wide and packed with e-rickshaws, pilgrims, and cows. All our Varanasi rentals are chauffeur-driven for this reason.
What happens to car rental rates during Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj?
During Maha Kumbh (Jan–Feb of Kumbh years), Varanasi–Prayagraj demand jumps 3–4x and rates for the 125 km NH19 route can double to ₹6,000+ for a sedan. Book at least 2–3 months in advance, or consider a shared Tempo Traveller to split costs.
How long is the drive from Varanasi to Bodhgaya, and is it doable in a day?
Bodhgaya is 280 km via NH19, roughly 5 hours each way. A same-day return is possible but tight — most pilgrims prefer an overnight stay. A sedan round trip with driver halt costs ₹6,500–7,500; an SUV ₹8,000–9,500.
Are there parking restrictions near Dashashwamedh Ghat during evening Aarti?
Yes — from around 5:30 PM to 8 PM, traffic police block vehicle entry on the approach roads to Dashashwamedh and Manikarnika Ghats. Your driver will drop you at Godowlia or the Chowk parking and you'll walk. Plan to arrive by 5 PM for a good viewing spot.
Can I book a car for a Varanasi to Lucknow airport transfer?
Yes — the 320 km drive via NH31 takes about 5.5 hours. A sedan costs ₹5,500–6,500 one-way including tolls. For early morning flights from Lucknow, we recommend a 10 PM departure from Varanasi the previous night.
Do Varanasi car rentals include the driver's food and stay?
Driver bata (food allowance) is included in all our quotes. For overnight outstation trips to Ayodhya, Bodhgaya, or Chitrakoot, driver accommodation of ₹500–800 per night is charged separately unless stated otherwise in your booking confirmation.
