• Parking near Mandi's Indira Market and Victoria Bridge is genuinely difficult — if you're doing in-town errands, keep the driver waiting rather than trying to find a spot yourself.
• In December and January, carry a thermos and expect fog between Mandi and Pandoh until about 9 AM; a 4:30 AM Bhuntar airport pickup should be padded by half an hour.
• Rewalsar's lake circuit and monastery are best done on a weekday — weekends see heavy local pilgrim traffic and the parking near the gurdwara fills up by 10 AM.
• If you're doing the Mandi–Jogindernagar–Barot run, budget a full day and carry cash — ATMs past Jogindernagar are unreliable and small dhabas don't take UPI when the network drops.
